Why a Paint and Sip with Mom is the Ultimate Mother’s Day Gift

  • Quality Time Without Distractions: Phones down, paintbrushes up. When you’re painting together, you’re truly present—laughing, creating, and maybe a little bit of friendly competition!

  • A Shared Experience: Material gifts are nice, but shared experiences create lasting memories. Every time Mom looks at her painting, she’ll remember the joy and laughter you shared that day.

  • It’s Something Different: Instead of another brunch or flower bouquet, give Mom an experience she’ll talk about for years. Plus, who doesn’t love a little wine and a lot of color?

  • Zero Stress, All Fun: At Artvana, our talented instructors guide you every step of the way. No pressure, no judgment—just fun, creativity, and connection.

Other Creative Ways to Celebrate Mom in Washington State

If you want to make an entire weekend out of it, here are some more ways to get creative with Mom:

  • Visit a Botanical Garden: Stroll through the stunning tulip fields at Roozengaarde in Mount Vernon or the Washington Park Arboretum in Seattle for a colorful, floral-filled day.

  • Attend a Pottery or Glass-Blowing Class: Places like Seattle Glassblowing Studio or Tacoma’s Museum of Glass offer hands-on workshops that make for an unforgettable, artsy adventure.

  • Take a Scenic Art Walk: Explore local art markets like the Olympia Arts Walk or the Fremont Sunday Market in Seattle. You’ll find local artists, live music, and plenty of inspiration.

  • Craft Your Own Wine Tour: Washington is known for its incredible wineries. Book a tasting at places like Chateau Ste. Michelle or Woodinville Wine Country, and pair it with a picnic and a painting class for the ultimate creative escape.

Make It Easy: Give Mom an Artvana Gift Card

Not sure which class to pick or looking for a last-minute gift? An Artvana Gift Card is the perfect solution. Let Mom choose the class that fits her schedule (or join her for a future session!). It’s a thoughtful, unique gift that shows you care about spending real time together—not just checking a box.

This Mother’s Day, trade the traditional for something truly magical. Join us at Artvana for a Paint and Sip event, and create beautiful memories with the most important woman in your life.

retreats and weekends for women in washington state

Have you heard of Reconnect? Maybe you have heard about this retreat in the past or seen it on Facebook. If you haven’t had a chance to check it, today I am going to cover everything in detail for you and what you can expect if you attend the Reconnect Womens Retreat this year!

Here is the scoop.

Reconnect was started as a Womens Retreat 4 years ago in Lewis County Washington. It was born out of a need to get away from the hustle and into the country. It is women only; if you have never attended a women’s only event, you are in for a treat!

Something magical happens when women come together and in this retreat, we have built such an amazing group of women that come back year after year.

We relax, in the creek, in the hammock, in the hot tub….there is no shortage of ways you can take a deep breath and let it go here.

We stretch and feel, with 3 onsite yoga sessions that you can choose to participate in. All yoga is included.

We play and connect, I can’t tell you how many awesome connections and friendships have come from this weekend. Join us Saturday night of retreat for game night, it’s always a highlight. This year we are also planning a movie night under the stars, where you can grab your blanket and get cozy while we have snacks and watch a classic. All of these activities are included.

We create, each year I have been in charge of the art workshop for the weekend and it has been so fun designing this for the women! In years past we have explored painting, gratitude and goddess workshops, Hand block printing on tea towels and more….This year I have an art & clay workshop planned for you where you will create a fairy garden globe. Wander the 7 acre property to find natural additions for your art piece and then come back and create some special items out of clay! Add a mushroom or a toad, a little house a butterfly your imagination is the only limit and of course I will be there if you get stuck. We will bake your clay on site so you can paint it and add it to your art piece. The art workshop is inlcuded.

We partake, this Womens retreat is alcohol and canna friendly. If you drink, you can do that here, crack open a cold one as you float in the creek. If you smoke you can do that here, take a toke and zen out in a hammock. We are all about sharing. Also if you do not partake, that is ok too! Find the vibe that’s right for you with multiple areas within the property and plenty of different women to connect with no matter your habits.

I do hope you can join us this June 21-23 for our 5th annual Reconnect womens retreat. The  Womens retreat is happening near Onalaska WA at Fonzo and Marindas Campground. The Lewis county countryside is breathtaking and full of fresh air! See you there!

Here are a few photos from our past Retreats!

Do you remember 2019?  It seems like forever ago, I am here today to tell you about my Journey through the pandemic.  In short the shutdown in March of 2020 cancelled all of our events.  Over a year and a half went by before we were able to reopen, and a lot has happened!

The first thing I set out to do was find a way to pivot painting with all of you.

I needed something that made sense, was fun and hassle free for you painters.  I was also diving deeper into my own art and finding ways to be even more effective in teaching others how to paint and enjoy the process.  I became a certified therapeutic art coach in 2020.  With what I learned during my certification and the need to shift classes to a more virtual platform, Artvana was born.  This was just the beginning, it took 9 months of planning, learning, strategizing, branding and research to launch!  We also became trademarked!  The brand was really coming together and I couldn’t be more excited.

Introducing: Artväna!

We launched in March 2021 and were proud to offer the Artväna membership to our followers. The Artväna membership gave me a way to interact with you through virtual platforms and video as well as ship you everything you need each month to paint!  It’s the subscription box you need to help you create more, and keep you creating.  Even when you are busy, taking time for yourself is so important and I hope that being a member in the paint club will help you do just that!  Follow your own progress with me and become part of a community of others just like you, practicing and learning new skills.  This pivot has been an unexpected gift, it allows me to interact with you more often and watch your progress as you grow.  We explore all kinds of paintings, landscapes, floral, pours and more.  I hope that you will join me if you haven’t already started your membership and see just how creative you can really be!

I am also pleased to announce that our live in person events were able to reopen and we are back painting at various partner venues around the Puget Sound area.  I hope that Artväna will help your creative practice to grow throughout 2022.

Paint soon – Rikki / Artväna Founder
